(May 2007)

Sometimes I get calls asking what is it that we do at Echo Valley ... I suppose the simplest answer is we farm and teach classes, and often that is enough for the curious.
Of course I want to launch into stewardship of the land, sustainable agriculture, hope for the animals, promoting traditional medicine, etc. ... but enough said.

I have spent what could very well be my last week alone here. The word is out about the good food, good company and good intention which has become the foundation of this place, and for that I am grateful.

It just seems all to sweet, the skies, the quiet, the beauty ... to be kept to a few.

I know the thing we do best here is to triumph the human spirit. To honor simplicity, to beacon joy, to celebrate gratitude. To remember our humanity, and while recognizing our diversity, find strength in our similarity.

For like-minded souls this is a haven, and for those who think "too good to be true", I understand. I have my cynicism, too  But then I wake up to another Echo Valley morning.

And on it goes, and you are welcome.
