some thoughts on Darkness and Light
It has been said that we live in the midst of the darkest time.
I actually find that a bit of relief - What if this were the midst of the "lightest" time?
I would have to believe we were getting screwed.
But think about it...the darkest time. When a light goes on, it really means something, doesn't it?
Walking in the dark, which I do quite a bit out here in the woods, gets a bit old as you nearly break a leg or worse...but when the moon is lit, wow. You can walk all night and then some.
I think it's time we change the slogan "Take back the night" to "Take back the light".
Think of it, the Kindness of it, in the darkest time, we had Edison or whomever was really responsible for the light bulb to help us out.
Someone knew we were going to be big sissies when it came to this darkness thing.
Then there are all those prophecies warning us about this time, giving hints on how to get home and telling us not to fear...they either didn't really know how dark, dark was going to be, or they knew something else about this era...
I am hunching on the latter...
Not to be confused with the end of the world "darkness", which is, in my opinion, absolute ignorance of Light. What I am contemplating is more akin to the "dark night of the soul".
This dance within my being of dark to light is magnificent wonder.
And the more I dance, the more absurd the darkness around me becomes...
So it appears that in this journey of the darkest time, we need guts. Guts activated, transforms to hope. Hope seeks its nature which is Light.
And Light is there.
It is really cool it is set up this way...and with and because of all the great help:
Echo Valley goes on.
The determination to offer a place of hope and rest goes on, undaunted.
You are welcome.
In Beauty may I walk.
All day long may I walk.
Through the returning seasons may I walk...
With Beauty before me, behind me, above me,
all around me, may I walk.
It is finished in Beauty.
It is finished in Beauty.
